Methods to accomplish this end shall be based upon generally accepted principles of cooperation, self-support, mutual aid, and self-administration.

Making history since 1948...

1948:
December 1st- Dallas Credit Union was granted its charter under the original name Dallas Region Centennial Federal Credit Union.
1961:
Alice Shankles, the first full-time employee was hired as manager.
1967:
January- name changed to Dallas Federal Credit Union.
1979:
Carol Bledsoe became CEO.
2004:
Dee Pennington was promoted to CEO.
2002:
August- regulators granted approval to serve anyone who lives, works,  attends church or school in the downtown Dallas community.
2005:
July- new branch at the Urban Market grocery store in downtown Dallas.
2010:
July- DCU opens second full service main branch with drive-thru at 1919 Woodall Rodgers Freeway in Dallas.

 


Because of our 2002 expansion, we now use the name Dallas Credit Union. By adding service to anyone who lives, works, attends church or school in the downtown Dallas community to our field of membership, we can better serve you with increased low cost, cutting edge financial services. We are looking forward to the opportunity to reach out to those in the community who do not presently enjoy the benefits of credit union membership.

 

In addition to serving our main sponsors and the downtown Dallas community, we also have a number of small employee groups. If you are part of any of these groups or are a family member, you can open a DCU account.

 

 

Your credit union is a full service financial institution offering a variety of savings and lending products. We use our website, home banking, e-mail, fax and our 24-hour Data Line (Audio Response phone service) to deliver these products and services with ease and convenience. We continue to serve members from all across the nation without having to come into the credit union office. DCU is also a member of the Shared Branching Network, which allows its members to bank at participating credit unions around the nation.

Management Team

Dee Pennington began her career at Dallas Credit Union in 1980 as a Teller. During her tenure, she worked as a Teller, Senior Teller, Loan Clerk, Loan Officer, Collection Officer, Vice President of Operations, Vice President, and now President/CEO. Dee leads a staff of employees dedicated to serving you.
Shelia Ray is DCU's Chief Financial Officer. She started at DCU in 1982 as a Clerk Typist. She worked as Admin Aid, Senior Accountant and became CFO in 2004.
Kim Maxwell started her employment with DCU in 1993 as a temporary employee and became a full-time Teller in 1994. In April of 1994 she became a Loan Officer and in 2004 was promoted to the Lending Supervisor position, and then Operations Supervisor and now she is our Branch Manager.
Jenni Cerutti is DCU's Lending Supervisor. She started her employment with DCU in 2000 and has worked as a Loan Officer & Senior Loan Officer and was promoted to Lending Supervisor in 2009.
